Featherdale Wildlife Park

Last Tuseday, our class went to visit the Featherdale Wildlife Park. We should take the bus so we all met at the Princess highway in the morning. It was a nice day! We left here at 8am and arrived the park 1hr later .

The Featherdale Wildlife Park is at Doonside (near Blacktown). There are lots of animal and also you can hand feed a kangaroo, wallaby, or a lovely koala... When we went into the park, the first animal which we saw was the wanba. And then we found the kangaroo walked around us. Some of us took the photo with the kangaroo. It was very close to some animal. Like lovely koala, if you want to enjoy a face-to-face with a koala, you can buy one dollar eucalyptu leaves to feed. I really interest in the Tasmanian Devil which is stocky and feroucious animal. But unfornately, I didn't find it. 12 o'clock, we returned to the pinic area and had a lunch together. We shared what we saw, and also we took some photos of everyone in the class.

After lunch ,we were back to the bus and came back the TAFE. We all enjoyed this excursion very much , although it was quite short trip.

Aussie Helps

Last week we had the college annual Health Expo09.Some classmates and I interviewed Sue Martin who is an Aussie Helpers volunteer.

She told us Aussie Helpers is a group of volunteers who collect food and money and they help many farmers in the bush. They need help because of the bushfires, floods and drought. Some farmers have suffered from these disasters, they had few crops for many years and are very poor.

Although Aussie Helps have only 30-40 volunteers in Australia, they help lots of people every year. But they can't help everyone, because they can't go everywhere.
Some peoples don't ask for help, just people tells someone and somebody tells someone else. The volunteers heard it on the bush Telegraph.

About Bert Garnder

Main picture: John Veage
Yesterday, we read a news item from the local paper, the leader . This news is about Bert Gardner , a man who has graduated from university at 83. I think this old man's stamina and courage is to be admired. The news encouraged me to study English. Maybe Bert Garnder's engergy and mind isn't better than a young student's, but he does his best to study. Finally, he's succeeded. His story told us "Don't give up!"

My Holiday

Two weeks ago, my family and my friends went to Newcastle to spend our holiday. It was my frist trip in Austraila, so I was very excited. We got up early on Saturday morning and left Sydney at 8am. It was two hours' driving to Newcastle by the Pacific Highway. First we went to a hotel which was such a beautiful house. This house was on the lakeside of Lake Macquaire. You could go fishing, swimming and boating. If you just wanted to stay in the hotel, you would also have a relaxing and interesting holiday.
After a short break, we went to the Lake Macquarie City Art Galley, but unfortunately it was closed. So we visited other places and we still had a lovely afternoon. The next morning, we drove to Nobby's Beach which was a famous beach in Newcastle. How wonderful the beach was! We walked along the beach for a long time and we took lots of photos. Then we had lunch at the Queen's Wharf.
At 4pm, we decided to come back to Sydney. Although it was a two days trip, we all enjoyed it. All of us hoped we could go there again in the future.
